CoFilmic: Inspiring Comedy Talent Through Film

Yours truly had the great pleasure of being invited to the press launch of CoFilmic in London at the Charlotte Street Hotel earlier in the week.

CoFilmic was created by Janet Harrison....brilliant stuff!

For those of you who don’t know what CoFilmic is, in their own words it is “a completely new talent discovery and development model, specific to comedy film makers, comedians and those wishing to write comedy for TV. The festival and touring events provide a totally different way to showcase that talent, not just to other film makers, but to those who matter most – people who watch and enjoy comedy in its broadest sense.”

And I can tell you now, it is absolutely brilliant. Founded by Janet Harrison who is truly a comedian herself, the organisation has already garnered the support of some of the industry’s top executives, including Producer BAFTA-winning Charlie Hanson (Extras and Life’s Too Short), Leslee Udwin (East is East) and Henry Normal (co-founder of Baby Cow with Steve Coogan).

The festival is held in Manchester at the end of October, and I simply cannot wait for the laughs to begin!
