Movie of the Week: The Fairy (La Fée)

Hi Boys and Girls!

It’s Sunday which means I get to pick my favourite Movie of the Week! This week London had the privilege of hosting the first London Comedy Film Festival, brought to us by Denise Hicks and Jonathan Wakeham.

The opening night had a very special treat for me, in the shape of the french comedy The Fairy: a light-hearted insight into the beginnings of a special romance. A very special romance.

The film was an absolute delight to watch. What a wonderful way to spend a Friday evening laughing away during a fantastically refreshing and genuinely honest and funny film. You quickly forget this gem was made by the French, and simply enjoy a great film.

The characters were well-developed and likeable, the physical comedy was perfectly timed, in fact the film could have been a silent film and it would have been just as funny. Boys and Girls, this is the perfect film to take your significant other to on a date. I thoroughly recommend it to you…..go see it when you can!

Awwww.....they're in love!

Dom works the night shift in a small hotel near the industrial sea port of Le Havre. One night, a woman arrives with no luggage and no shoes. Her name is Fiona and she tells Dom that she is a fairy that can grant him three wishes. Fiona makes two of his wishes come true then mysteriously disappears. Dom. who has fallen in love with her by then, searches for her everywhere.
