Box Office Results For Comedies – Monday 16 January 2012

Hi Boys and Girls!

It’s Monday again which means it’s time to find out how this year’s comedies are doing at the box office so far!! Woohoo!!

Box Office Results Rock!

Number 8

Alvin and the Chipmunks

You just can't help but smile.....have you seen the hair??

Holding within the Top 10 is the family favourite Alvin and the Chipmunks. Although it didn’t win any Golden Globes last night (Spielberg’s Tintin won for Best Animated Feature), Fox must be rubbing their hands with glee that the family comedy has so far made close to $272 million dollars worldwide…!

Number 11

We Bought A Zoo

Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson...scrumptious!!

Starring Matt Damon, We Bought A Zoo came out just before Christmas and has so far made a respectable $64 million in the US, with many foreign markets yet to open. Costing $50 million, Fox must be glad it’s at least going to make its money back on the picture.!

Number 15

The Artist

A surprise hit at Cannes..The Artist has defied all expectations!

Who would have thought that a black and white silent film would triumph so incredibly well and creep up the box office? Harvey Weinstein must be bathing in champagne right now. It seems that his triumphant days at Miramax are coming back, as he’s managed to secure success after success. Hats off to you Harvey…you deserve it!
